How Do You Get An Irresponsible Driver To Pay For Damages Caused To Your Car Without Paying For A Lawyer?
My son had stopped at a red light when another car rear ended his car, the accident was clearly the other drivers fault. The other driver hasn’t responded to our messages left on her phone or to any of the letters we have sent. She no longer lives at the address she gave at the accident scene, however we do know where she is currently staying. We also used the Justice Departments, “Disputes Settlements Department” to get some kind of response from her but she has ignored them as well, so we were told there was nothing else they could do to help him.
We have been told even if he did take it to court, there’s no guarantee that he’s not going to get stuck with his legal costs. lf anybody has any ideas on what we should do next it would be most appreciated.

Normally such claims are handled by your insurance company. Don’t you have uninsured motorist cover? In many or most states, the responsible driver will have his/her license suspended for nonpayment of a claim.
You can sue in small claims court without a lawyer. A summons can be served on the Secretary of State of your state — assuming you are in the USA, you don’t say — under most states’ laws.
The Justice Department? The U.S. Dept. of Justice has nothing to do with a local civil matter.
Your son may have medical implications from being rear-endede. Normally the insurance company of the responsible driver would be very concerned about that, and want to know the results of any medical exam.
Try small claims court. You can only sue up to a certain amount, in my state it’s around $3,000.00.
They charge a small court fee. I sued someone in 1990, the court cost was maybe $25.00. If you win, the person you sue has to pay that back to you.
If the person owes you $5,00.00 and small claims only goes to $3,000.00, you can still sue for just $3,00.00.

A police report should have been filed at the scene. Take this to small claims court and if she doesn’t show you will win and if you can’t find her, go to small claims court again to file a lean against her property. Sometimes they put out an arrest warrant for her not showing up, to a court proceeding. You can also find a Pro Bo-no lawyer by calling the State’s attorney’s office. This will provide you with a free attorney.
Write one of those “to the person who crashed into our car with their red honda civic’” letters to the newspaper, they work wonderfully.
Go to a Personal Injury lawyer. They are usually HUNGRY. They will take the case, especially if your son was hurt and sue the CRAP out of her insurance company and she will HAVE to pay for everything.

it has been done since recorded history. in usa, everybody learned how the "indians" cultivated plants and enhanced growth by catching some of the then plentiful fish and burying them with the corn, squash etc. seeds. full of nitrogen and other minerals that help. some places, like on the flood banks of the nile, the egyptians did not need such measures. the soild was so rich with nutrients and continually replenished by the nile sediments. now do a web search and learn so much more.

Banks lending more than people could afford. 2. borrowers not being responsible during loan closing and accepting risky products such as interest only or Arm products that did not suit their situation. 3. Declining home values after years of record rising values 4. the cyclical nature of the market. Markets cannot always be a sellers market and the housing market has been that way for some time.
