A power of attorney form is a legal form that will allow someone to appoint another person to legally act on his or her behalf. The person who creates the POA (power of attorney) is called the principal and the person appointed to act on the principal’s behalf is called the agent.

Macarius Asked:

My husband is in the military and we need to get me signed as the power of attorney before he leaves for his deployment. I have no idea where to go about getting the papers. Do you know where I can find the form for free online? Thanks.

Generally a bad idea as the base JAG can do them for him for free

Dementia and other afflictions leading to mental disabilities destroy our ability to act for ourselves – such as handling our financial and medical decisions. If you haven’t formally assigned someone to make those decisions for you, someone else will – and may not make the kind of decisions you’d like.

But you can only choose someone to act for you when you’re mentally competent. So, below, I discuss the type of Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care you can assign to anyone to act for you.

Traffic Court?

Macey Asked:

I made a court date for a traffic ticket I recieved. Because I am a Paramedic I cannot have two more points on my license without getting fired/terminated. When I called in and made the date I asked the court clerk about taking a defesive driving course instead of getting the points on my license. The court clerk said I needed to talk to the prosucuter about taking driver improvement class or pleaing to a ticket that had no points to it. What are the chances that I can take a defenseive driving course or pleading to another ticket without the points?? And if I did take a difensive driving course will it show up on my driving record?
